Scenic Chronicles are a series of images of the same scene taken over a long period of time. Back to the IBM Glen Scenic Chronicles Page.
On White Pine Lane trail, just before what I call the hairpin turn is a bridge. This is one that back in the day, cars drove over. It crosses Gray's Creek at the upper, or nothern, end of the trail system. The other bridge, also known as the stone arch bridge, is farther down stream.
This scene wasn't on my original list, but the dusting of snow looked pretty and I decided to add it since it is a place I pass often. There is also a post that I can stand by to make repeatability easier.
The snow had disappeared. As you'll see not a real snowy winter.
Another light dusting of snow.
Again most of the snow is gone and the shadows highlight the bright sun.
Cold but no snow; sun but no green.
I start taking pictures a bit more often for a stretch hoping to catch the pop of buds. The green you see is mostly Hemlock.
Nada.
Are those some buds? And the grass on right past the bridge greening?
Pop!
The leaves unfolding well.
Compare the amount of shade now compared to February. The leaves block a lot as they need it.
You can't completely compare the shade as my pictures are not with the sun in a consistent position.
Actually, the sun is in a consistent position, it's more where the Earth is in its rotation.
Lots of green. Watch the trees stretch for the sunlight in the next few pictures.
Stretching.

Now I start to wait for autumn colors.
It's starting
More color and more leaves on the trail.
Pretty colors. I think some of that is Sugar Maple.
Color hanging on.
Back to the late fall look.
We had a few snow since last picture, including Thanksgiving day. A couple warm days left this.
More snow. And the tree branches to the right, fairly close to us in the image. Did you notice they're drooping? The weight of a snow gave it more lean. More snow would fall later in the day.
My shadow makes a cameo. Sun low in the sky. Warm weather after Christmas melted snow, but we'd get snow over night for new years.
A lot of snow cover this winter.
After a little warm up, some more snow.
After 48 hours of snow, winter mix, and more snow.
A few days ago, things warmed up considerably, but yesterday and today back to the teens. So while snow melted, there is a lot of ice.
The snow is all gone (though we did have flurries last week after it warming up). Today was 69°.
A few days after a good rain. Hoping more starts to bud soon. We did have flurries the day before.
Spring is starting to pop. I did get chilly last night, 40°, but warmed up nicely.
