Scenic Chronicles are a series of images of the same scene taken over a long period of time. Back to the Apalachin Marsh Scenic Chronicles Page.
One of the first things you get to see and experience at the Apalachin Marsh is going through a tunnel under the eastbound lane of Interstate 86. It's not so long that it becomes too dark to see. It is a bit cooler in the Summer time. A few things to watch include how the tunnel becomes a bit more obscured as plants grow and the large oak tree on the otherside of the tunnel.
Long shadows near the shortest day of the year.
Updated boardwalk, thanks to a Boy Scout.
The 2023-24 winter was on mild side.
Grass on edges of boardwalk start to become green.
And boom, Spring begins for real.
A lot of green in the trees and grass. The latter begins to encroach on the boardwalk.
Foggy Fall morning.
Some leaves are off and others still turning.
The Oak starts to lose its leaves as you start to see red appear along the highway as Winterberry fruit appears.
More snow this Winter, though I didn't get to the Marsh as much.
A tinge of green in the grass appears.
